Hello Kitty Hat

My aunt asked me to make a hello kitty hat for her daughter-in-law for christmas, so I did.

I tried to use a pattern but it didn't work out so good.  I ended up just winging it and I think it turned out alright.

PS. my deathstar is a great hat model

Baby Overalls

I made my cousin a minion outfit for her new baby.  I used some patterns to get a general idea, but I made the overalls myself.  I decided to write down the pattern and put it on ravelry to sell and I just sold the first pattern.  Yay!!

I made a  and boots to go with it and a little pocket with logo to add to the overalls.hat

this is the ravelry page and picture

Dragon egg dice bag

I saw this pattern on pintrest and had to try it, even though I don't play dnd.  I love the white yarn for this.  Here is the pattern.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dragon-egg-dice-bag

Harry Potter Scarf

I found a pattern on a red hart paper and decided to try it.  Turns out that my gold/yellow yarn and my red yarn were not the same size.  I still don't know why they are all different sizes even though the paper says they are the same.  Well anyway, I guess I'm ready for the next quidditch game.  GO GRYFFINDOR!!!

Baby Girl Crochet

Here are some of the items I have made for baby showers or birthdays.  I have another baby shower coming up soon.

For these little black sandals I used a pattern for the bottom and heel and made the front bits myself.  Here's the pattern for part of it http://thislovelylife-blog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/03/todays-crochet.html

For this cute little set, I saw a picture on pintrest and decided I could probably just make it myself, so after looking at a few patterns for sizing purposes, I finished it up just in time for the baby shower.

I did use a pattern for these, and they came out pretty good.  I would make a few adjustments next time.  They fit a one year old pretty good.  Here is the pattern  http://www.annavirginiafashion.com/2010/12/piggy-peeps-baby-shoes-pattern-holly.html

Fall Baby hat

I made my nephew a cute little green and grey striped hat last fall.  I tried it on to see how long it needed to be and he kept trying to eat the strings.  He really likes to chew on my yarn

R2D2 Hat

My Star Wars R2D2 hat.  I made it for my nephew before he was born and I think the front turned out great.  The back, where the seam is was terrible.  I didn't know how to join my rounds at the right spot.  I even had an offer to buy it from me and I would have sold it, but it was a pain to attach all the little pieces on the front, and I didn't wand to do that again.

Barbie yarn creations.

Once upon a time I was bored and decided to try making barbie backpacks.  I think they turned out pretty good considering I just winged it.   I also made a small pillow and baby blanket for the barbies.  I hope my cousin's kids enjoyed them.

Hunting vest and hat

Here is my adorable little nephew wearing his crochet hunting vest and hat.  For this I used my own imagination instead of a pattern.

Past Crochet Efforts

I first learned to crochet years ago, but I never really did it enough to get good at it.  Then one day I picked it up again and I was much better than I expected.  Every stitch looked good and I was very surprised at how well my first few baby blankets turned out.  Then I started making other things like barbie backpacks and blankets without using a pattern, and then before long I made my first baby beanie.  It was supposed to look like R2D2 and it mostly did.  I was and still am a bit bad at joining rows, but now I like to think that I am getting better at.  I have corrected many mistakes that I have made and I learned how to read patterns and now I am thinking about writing some paterns of my own.
